Destination view → Translate button under the ⋯ menu.
Two modes:
1. Take a photo — The camera opens. Photograph e.g. a restaurant menu, a street sign or a medicine box. Google Vision recognizes the text and we translate to the destination language (based on the country) → you see the translation overlaid on the photo.
2. Type text — Free input field. We translate to the destination language. Tap the speaker for pronunciation.
Common travel phrases — A separate "Essentials" tab has pre-translated phrases in the local language: greetings, thanks, restaurant words, emergency phrases, price questions.
Supported languages: all 100+ languages supported by Google Translate. Photo recognition works for ~40 languages.
Network: requires connection. Doesn't work offline yet. You can preload "Essentials" phrases to your device by opening the tab online.
